Help us revamp our website
UZIMA Women Relief Group International provides care and support to families in Canada and abroad affected by the effects of war and disease in order to contribute to the global efforts to relieve poverty and improve women’s health and education. The organization works to alleviate poverty and augment wellness among at-risk populations facing health challenges brought about by lack of access to better economic opportunities.
The project is in partnership with The Prosperity Project (https://canadianprosperityproject.ca/) which connects professionals with non-profit organizations that focus on serving women (skills development, training, employment pathways, crisis counselling and mental and physical health). Uzima is a Kiswahili word meaning wellness. The non-profit was founded in 2012 with the goal of advancing education and relieving poverty of Black (racialized) community members in Toronto, as well as poor women in rural communities. UZIMA is looking for a skilled web developer to join our team of innovative designers who are consistently raising the bar on creativity and user experiences. The ideal candidate is a talented artist with extensive technical expertise in the creation, maintenance, and updates of websites. Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web services and program applications is essential for this role. As part of this project we are looking for someone who can create well-designed, tested code using best practices for website development, including mobile and responsive site design, create websites and user interfaces, using standard HTML/CSS practices while incorporating data from back-end databases and services, maintain consistent visual designs throughout the website to maintain our brand identity, and develop/validate testing schedules, addressing all browsers and devices to ensure various computers can access content.
Updated website that aligns and highlights our vision and mission to serve families in Canada and internationally
