As the world becomes more connected through digital means, Canadians are upskilling to meet private sector demand. As this trend continues, Canadian non-profits, who are often resource strapped, need access to this same talent to advance and thrive in the digital age.
Professionals, who are part of the knowledge economy, are looking for ways to support their non-profits of choice. However, their options are often limited to donating funds - a meaningful act but one that sometimes leaves volunteers yearning for a different kind of impact that better leverages their skillset
As COVID-19 has upended our daily lives, we are seeing professionals wanting to do more. We are also seeing non-profits affected through a significant shortfall in donations, and in some cases having to lay off staff. Non-profits need our help. We need to connect professionals wanting to help with non-profits that need help now to invest in their, and our, future.
10,000 Hours is a grassroots movement that rethinks how professionals support Canadian non-profits. 10,000 Hours matches non-profits who are looking to invest in their digital, creative, strategic and analytical capabilities, with professionals looking to give back and make an impact.
